OxTrail is a fun and family-friendly sculpture trail of 138 large and small oxen, which are on display across Oxfordshire from 6th July until 29th August. The large oxen are all located within Oxford’s city centre, while the mini oxen are dotted across the city and the rest of the county. OxTrail is raising vital funds for Sobell House Hospice, the charity behind the trail!
Every ox sculpture is unique; the large oxen have been designed by artists, while the mini oxen have been decorated by schools, community groups, local media, and a handful by the Sobell House Hospice team.
Many of the sculptures are sponsored and it’s been an incredible example of community spirit and kindness towards Sobell House to bring OxTrail to you this summer.
Take part in the trail by downloading the app or picking up a map. For the best trail experience, download the app as you can easily track your progress and unlock over 60 ox-citing rewards!
You can start your OxTrail adventure with a visit to our Westgate Hub Shop, where our Moo Crew are on hand to help you plan your journey, and you can shop the range of ox-clusive merch, including tea towels, t-shirts and hoodies, plush Oxley toys, craft kits, and much more.
From the comfort of your own home, you can also buy raffle tickets to win the mini ox ‘Mythox’ and other fantastic prizes, remember a loved one and celebrate their life through our Forget-Me-Not Ox, and support the work of Sobell House Hospice by making a donation.
When the trail ends, our herd will be gathered together for one time only at a special Farewell Weekend on 7th – 8th September at the Westgate. This event will be free to attend.
Following this is the much-anticipated Grand Auction, where most of the large oxen, and some of the mini oxen, will go under the hammer in a bidding spectacular before ‘herding’ off to their forever homes.

Your support matters
Sobell House is there for people from the moment they receive the life-changing news that they have an incurable illness until the end of their life.
Our care is provided free of charge, but it’s not without cost. Without the support from people like you, we would not be able to raise the £3 million that we need each year to keep our hospice up and running. Simply put; we can only keep caring because you do.
