Our ox, Bernard, has been painted by a small but dedicated group of sixth-form students. They were inspired by the richly patterned wood carvings from Oaxaca in Mexico which we study in our Year 7 Art lessons. They chose to give Bernard a bright base coat and then to wrap him up in a honeycomb of patterns which represents the diversity in our school community. There are also a few more personal touches which show the students’ close connections with Sobell House and the important work they do to support our community.
