Our ox was designed by our Year 6 art scholars: Freya S, Isabella B, Olivia G and Aurelia H. They brainstormed their ideas as a team, basing their inspiration on the bright colours and designs of the Mexican Alebrijes, as well as their love of the circus. They wanted to convey a sense of fun to make people laugh and cheer them up, as times at the moment can seem tough. The ox had to be wearing big pink bloomers, just like a circus clown, as this would hopefully make people smile. They also pasted on false eye lashes to capture the gentle reality of an ox’s kindness and because oxen really do have long eye lashes!
