Amanda Quellin is a professional scenic artist and illustrator who has had a career both internationally and in the UK in television, theatre and film. She now works as a freelance artist on murals, illustration and public art projects inspired by the natural world and is passionate about animal welfare. Amanda has a degree in fine art and masters in illustration for which she was awarded a distinction in 2021.

This design was inspired by the ornate architectural carvings and wrought ironwork found in Oxford. I wanted to embody the architectural style by using a solid black background with gold inlay to symbolise the richness of the carvings.


After the trail ends, most of the life-sized oxen (and a selection of mini oxen) will be sold at a hoof-biting live auction to raise crucial funds for Sobell House Hospice.

The lucky new owners will then take their moo-gnificent ox to its forever home.
