Amanda Quellin is a professional scenic artist and illustrator who has had a career both internationally and in the UK in television, theatre and film. She now works as a freelance artist on murals, illustration and public art projects inspired by the natural world and is passionate about animal welfare. Amanda has a degree in fine art and masters in illustration for which she was awarded a distinction in 2021.
This design was inspired by the stained glass found in Oxford’s architecture. The artist uses the symbolic tree of life to represent humankind’s fragile relationship with the natural world and representation of the ox/cow as one of the most exploited creatures on our planet.
Auction
After the trail ends, most of the life-sized oxen (and a selection of mini oxen) will be sold at a hoof-biting live auction to raise crucial funds for Sobell House Hospice.
The lucky new owners will then take their moo-gnificent ox to its forever home.
