Annie has always loved The Adoration of the Golden Calf by the French artist Nicolas Poussin. Painted between 1633 and 1634, it depicts the adoration of the golden calf by the Israelites, from chapter 32 of the Book of Exodus. The golden calf was using Annie Sloan’s new metallic gold paint (only available in the US currently) with Chalk Paint for the flowers.
