Join us this summer for an art trail unlike anything Oxfordshire has seen before…
Introducing OxTrail, where a herd of life-sized and mini oxen will be grazing across the county waiting for your visit. Each ox sculpture will be individually designed by artists and local schools, making the herd truly unique.
The vibrant and family-friendly trail will encourage thousands to be tourists in their own city, and attract national and international visitors.
OxTrail is raising money for Sobell House Hospice, who provide expert and compassionate care to people at the end of life, and support to their family and friends.

It is estimated that the number of people needing vital end of life care in England will rise by 55% by 2030 and as a result, the demand for hospice care is expected to grow at a similar rate. Assuming that NHS funding will not increase in line with the demand, in order to be able to provide a service to all that need it within Oxfordshire, we are likely to need to double our annual fundraising by 2030.
That’s why it’s never been a more important time for us to raise the vital funds that keep our hospice up and running.

It’s been 48 years since Sobell House had its first patient admission! 💛
We have come such a long way since we first opened in 1976, where we cared for 254 patients in the first year of opening. We now care for over 4,000 patients and their families yearly.
We are very proud of the progress we have made over the years and we’d like to share an update in celebration of our 48 years!
Over the past two years, we have been helping hundreds/thousands of people who are dying to be cared for in their own home, with the introduction of our Hospice Care at Home service.
We are delighted to announce the next phase of the service, Hospice Outreach, is now live. The service operates as a virtual ward, allowing patients to get the care they need at home safely and conveniently, rather than being in hospital. Specialist palliative care is then provided virtually or in person, depending on what is best for the patient. ✨

This time next week our London Marathon runners will be seizing the day on behalf of Sobell House and we couldn’t be more excited!
Tom, will be one of those running next week, and he’s running in memory of his Mum. 💜
‘Mum was cared for in her last days by the incredible team at Sobell House. The wonderful nurses and team there made my Mum’s last days as good as they could have been – caring and kind beyond measure. I got injured last year and had to pull out but all is going well this year and I’m up for the challenge!’
