Thank you
OxTrail has come to an end, but the memories will stay with us forever! Thank you being a part of the herd this summer and supporting Sobell House Hospice. We are so ox-cited to announce that the auction has raised over £150,000 which will make a huge difference to patients and families across Oxfordshire. Stay tuned for the final total raised coming very soon! For now, please sign up to hear from Sobell House.

CAN YOU HELP?
OxTrail is raising vital funds for Sobell House Hospice.
It is estimated that the number of people needing vital end of life care in England will rise by 55% by 2030 and, as a result, the demand for hospice care is expected to grow at a similar rate. Assuming that NHS funding will not increase in line with the demand, in order to be able to provide a service to all that need it within Oxfordshire, we are likely to need to double our annual fundraising by 2030.

It’s Hospice Care Week! This year’s theme is hospice retail and its role in funding hospice services.
We’ll be celebrating the brilliant contribution of our Sobell charity shops, our retail volunteers, showcasing some amazing statistics, and talking to our Head of Retail, where she will reveal the most interesting item we’ve had donated to our shops… and more! 👀
We’re kicking off the week by revealing this incredible statistic.
Between April 2023 and March 2024, 212,438 customers made purchases in our charity shops, raising an incredible £1,924,595 for the hospice. We are so grateful to everyone who shops with us, you make a HUGE difference.
With Christmas approaching, our shops are the go-to place for all things festive, with Christmas cards, stocking fillers, Secret Santa presents, and decorations fully stocked. Why not check out our Christmas Shopping Night at Witney to get started? 👉 link in bio (Upcoming events).
Making a purchase in our shops helps us to be there for families this Christmas and beyond.

Thank you Richard, you’re amazing! ✨
In September, Richard cycled 140 miles off-road in Wales to raise money for Sobell House. We’re so grateful to have such dedicated supporters, like Richard, who are willing to head out in our Great British weather, to raise important funds for Sobell.

‘During a lovely warm summers day I was persuaded to sign up to ride the Traws Eryri mountain bike trail in North Wales. I started this on Thursday 19 September and it was a 226km (140 miles) off road cycling trail from Machynlleth to the North Wales coast, over 4 days. It travels up the highest mountain ranges in Eryri (formerly Snowdonia), traverse deep-sided valleys, and forests.
Sobell House Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care to adults living in Oxfordshire with a life-limiting illness, and support to their family and friends. They offer compassionate care for patients via medicine, chaplaincy, music and art therapy, catering, transport services, and most of all companionship.
Like many people, I have seen the magnificent work the nurses and volunteers do at Sobell House. They are as fantastic and as supportive as you can possibly imagine. They appear to be superhuman, when they are just normal people like us who go home and cook tea, wash the clothes, pick the children up for school, sew up holes in socks, take the dog for a walk, chat to the neighbours, watch Corrie…’
Help us to say a BIG thank you to Richard. 🌟
